The massive Resource Centre of the IIM, Bangalore had to deal with decreased footfalls and low usage and issue of books. It was easy to deduce that the library has certainly moved to the student laptops and no one felt any need to visit the building that housed the library anymore.

As part of NID team that was called upon to investigate the matter and come up with out of the box ideas. Nilesh from Ether Team was empaneled and they set out to change this. After weeks of detailed rounds with the end users, faculty and librarians, they came up with an approach to this transformation.

The library was re-organised into sections that were more relevant, more free space was created to move around and extra large seating long with lounging facilities completed the space. High contrast ultra-modern sofas created the accent on the back drop of pre-cast concrete roof and clean white walls.

The project has still not begun the execution phase.
